National People’s Party (NPP) decided not to go for any pre-poll alliance in any political parties in Arunachal Pradesh. This resolution was moved by Party’s National President Conrad K Sangma, in party’s executive meeting which was passed in voice vote. The executive meeting held in Itanagar on 11th January 2019.

Party also decided to contest all  24 lok sabha seats of northeastern states, in the parliament election-2019. .

While welcoming the dignitaries Gicho Kabak draw the attention of one and all towards the gospel truth that the youths are go wayward for lack of employment opportunities and consecutive state governments irrespective of any party have hardly done anything tangible to solve this genuine problem though the state has vast untapped natural resources.

Kabak highlighted some of undeniable facts which would serve as springboard for the party to go to seek votes during ensuing elections and promise people its actions once come to power.

Firstly, he said that that Arunachalees are under wrong impression that we are the owners of the land and natural resources. But in true sense we are regrettably the protectors only (rakhwalas) as the Govt of India is the owner of land and its resource because the State of Arunachal Pradesh Act, 1986 was enacted under 5th Schedule of the Constitution of India. Thus, the NPP should take steps for amending the Act to bring the state at par with Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram which got statehood under 6th Schedule, which provides tribal communities considerable autonomy.

The 6th Schedule would enable the state to have legitimate ownership rights over its own natural resources and make it self-sufficient without depending too much on central grants. This would help enrich state offer, end dependency on the Centre and facilitate state-specific development.

He added that Priority should be attached to mobilizing state resources. The revenue generating capacity of all revenue generating departments, like mineral & mining, forest, agriculture, horticulture, assess and their annual revenue target fixed. For example, state orange though being exported to Bangladesh, why not other countries? If state kiwis fruit are being sold in all cities with foreign band, why horticulture department could not do it through PPP (public private partnership) policy?

Tourism sector is high potential being a treasure house of nature. Adventure, religious, cultural heritage tourism could be popularized to woo tourists from within and outside India.

Kabak said that NPP will ensure easy issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) to encourage visitors, particularly tourists, take a lead in creating effective forward and backward linkage to ensure remunerative prices to farmers for their huge agriculture-horticulture products.

The Demand for regularization of 6,000 SSA teachers surfaces off and on for which  the NPP will take steps for their regularization in a phased manner.

On the checking migration of border dwellers to urban areas in search of green pastures is the most serious problem of the state for which the Kabak  proposes to bring border villages under Army cantonment to supply essential commodities for their survival without depending on outside supply. Moreover, strengthening all entry check gates will be a priority agenda of NPP to ensure that those who have ill intention never enter the state to disturb our peaceful state.

Kabak said that the resources and potentials of the state, known as ‘Last Sangri-La on Earth’, are unending, like tourism being a nature trove; also known as “Orchid Paradise” and Coptis Teeta or Mishmi teeta, used for various diseases

while there is example of this herb curing cancer, grown aplenty.

NPP’s policies and programmes for prosperous Arunachal Pradesh may come to reality if NPP comes to power, he added.

State President Appeal all party leaders to work together for the landmark victory in the forth coming General and assembly Election 2019. He advised Block Presidents of every assembly constituencies and district presidents to recommend best of the best candidates for  2019 assembly election.

Joy Kumar Singh deputy Chief Minister of Manipur and James K Sangma Home Minister of Meghalaya also encourage the party leaders to work hard, identify winnable candidates and assured full support to the party candidates  for landmark victory in 2019 assembly election.

Nima Sangey Saling Vice-President (HQ) State NPP highlights party organisational matter that party has organised in 20 districts out of 25 districts despite of much hardship. He said that district committee will be constituted very shortly in the remaining five districts before assembly election.
