Addressing a press meet here today, IPR Director Obang Tayeng said, “The LitFest aims to create awareness on importance of literature and its impact on society, while also providing a platform for the local writers. We hope to encourage the youths to take up creative writing seriously through the fest and make a career out of it.”

“The fest stresses much importance to local literature which is very important for the survival of indigenous people. In this regard, panels with the developer of Wancho script Banwang Losu and the ‘Tani Lipi’ script inventor Tony Koyu will once again be included in this year’s edition,” added Thongchi.

Besides, book exhibition and film shows will be dovetailed with the LitFest 2019 to make it more interesting.
