Arunachal: Kumar Waii inaugurates Police Officers’ Mess and Walking Track

Kumar Waii while inaugurating the Police Officers’ Mess and Walking Track at Police Complex, Chimpu, Itanagar  emphasis all top police officers and all police force of state to rededicate  themselves for the cause of state security and shoulder responsibility as a responsible citizen of the state in all development matters.

While lauding the Arunachal Pradesh Police and Arunachal Police Housing & Welfare Corporation Ltd (APH&WCL) Waii said inspite of fund crunch several infrastructure have come up in various parts of state alongwith modernisation of all assets with technology.

Waii appeal the personnel as a selected category should work with a vision and mission sincerely to serve the community, society and state and urge upon to maintain cordial relationship with all for development, strengthening and modernisation of state police force

Director General of Police S.B.K. Singh while elaborated various activities of the Arunachal Pradesh Police  and its development since his joining in state and even as IGP earlier.

DIGP and General Manager APH&WCL T Ringu in his address elaborated that The Officers’ Mess has been constructed by Arunachal Police Housing & Welfare Corporation Ltd. The project comprising Officers’ Mess, three Type-V Quarters, four Type-IV Quarters and 32 Type-III Quarters was approved.

in 2010 and has been funded through the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) scheme of Ministry of DoNER, Govt. of India. The project cost was Rs. 879.10 lakhs. In spite of delay due to delay in release of funds, APH&WCL was able to complete the project in the original cost.

The Mess will provide a secure and comfortable accommodation to Police Officers’ visiting Itanagar for a short period of time. It will also cater to such needs of officers of other Police organisations and associated entities of the Central Government. Apart from 12 rooms, the Mess also has a gym, library, and a lounge.

The Walking Track, which is more than 700 m long, will benefit the Police Personnel and their families living at Police Complex Chimpu and at other locations by providing a dedicated trail for walking and jogging around the Police Ground. This track is in continuation of the sustained efforts being made to improve and maintain the health of police personnel and provide welfare facilities to them and their families. The track has been constructed by APH&WCL and has been funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility Funds of APH&WCL.

DIGP Tussar Taba also address the gathering.

All senior police officer of APP and officials of APH&WCL among others were present on the occasion.
