Arunachal: JHPC draft report on PRC will be ready soon- Nabam Rebia

The draft report of the Joint High Power Committee (JHPC) on Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) would be ready by next two weeks, said Nabam Rebia .

The draft report of the Joint High Power Committee (JHPC) on Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) would be ready by next two weeks and after a final sitting attentively before the budget session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA) the report would be made ready and may be placed before the house,  Said JHPC Chairman and senior cabinet Minister Nabam Rebia.

Rebia said that the 7th meeting of the JHPC was held at state Banquet Hall on Wednesday where many members  took  part.  RWD Minister Bamang Felix, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Ninong Ering, Peoples Party of Arunachal Chairman Kameng Ringu, Additional Advocate General, Deputy Commissioner from Lohit, Namsai and Changlang, representative of students union were present on the occasion.

He said that the decision arrive in the meeting is that the committee has to now prepare draft report which would be ready within next two weeks. The draft report will be widely circulated to all the members concern. After circulation of the report there will be a final meeting, tentatively it would be held before the budget session of the state assembly because the report would be placed before the house also.

Rebia said that the committee have visited various parts of the state and discussed the issue with several organisations,  leaders and administration at every location during the course of its investigation, study and understanding with regards in both favour  and against of granting of PRC.  Now the report will be submitted before the state government for a decision, He said.

Minister said that the committee have taken a strong exception to the so called economic blockage in some parts of Assam adjoining  Arunachal regarding  PRC issue.  We have repeatedly appealed all the distinguished members to adopt a humanitarian approach to the old problem.

He said that it was brought to our notice that few so called organisation have been creating problems and trying to adopt black mailing tactics by threatening to road block, economic blockage.

We will not allow doing such interference in the internal matters of the state. we have directed the district administration to  take up the issue related to law and order and public  inconveniences by its counterpart.

When asked about the ongoing protest by various organisation against the issue of PRC, Rebia said every one have right to protest in democracy, some of the organisation does not understand the PRC issue. They should try to understand what is PRC issue, PRC is a different issue and it does not mean that issue of PRC will confirmation to  ST. There may be certain stipulated condition, but coming to conclusion is not good as committee is yet to submit its report and no PRC have been issue so far.  every one concern are welcome and can raise their concern but they need to understand the PRC. Rebia added.
