Indigenous faith day was celebrated today at Zomkhang hall Tawang, the occasion was graced by Venerable Dr. Rikya Lhavoi  Rinpoche as chief guest and Padmashree Ven. Lama Thupten Phuntsok the founding Director of Manjushree Vidyapeeth as guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion ven. Dr. Rikya Rinpoche and Ven.Thupten Phuntsok both stressed on the importance of the day being celebrated and appealed the youths to preserve and promote our rich cultural heritage.

Dr Yeshi gyaltsen Principal Dorjee Khandu Govt College Tawang said ‘change in society is a continuous  process but this change shouldn’t be at the cost of ones culture and faith’.

Other resource persons present were Geshi Thupten Gendun teacher Tawang monastery, shri Rinchin Norbu Secretary Monpa Mimang tshokpa,and Phuntso Dhondup.

Urgen Dorjee President , All Monpa Students Union and its Vice president  Tenzin Dhargey also spoke about the urgent need of preserving culture and tradition in this fast moving century of multi cultured civilisation.
