Arunachal: Health minister calls on the Governor

Governor emphasises that health services and health centres functioning issues must be the top priority of our Governance and administration.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 30th July 2019. They discussed on health-related issues of the State on the occasion.

The Governor emphasised that health services and health centres functioning issues must be the top priority of our Governance and administration. It must be addressed keeping in view the medical needs and necessities of our people at the earliest. Good health of every citizen and clean and hygienic environment are vital for overall development of the State, the Governor stressed.

The Governor expressed his concern about the shortages of medical officers, paramedic staff and health-related infrastructure and their proper positioning and attendance in the far-flung areas of the State. He said that to ensure proper institutionalised medical aid, adequate and appropriate services and infrastructure must be made available in every health centre.

The Governor advised the State Health Minister to explore various innovative ways to strengthen the Health facilities and Doctors positioning in the State, particularly in difficult and isolated areas. He also asked him to prepare medical officers rotation plan on equitable deployment basis.

The Health and Family Welfare Minister, who also holds Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs took note of the suggestions made by the Governor about the Health Department and most importantly of the supervisory role of the senior civil servants related to their responsibilities.
