Arunachal: Foundation stone for Drug De-Addiction Centre laid in Medo

A foundation stone laying ceremony on Meditation cum Drug – Deaddiction Centre was held in setting a milestone here today to bring Medo – Wakro and its vicinity free from the clutch of dreaded opium and other counter band substance. Raj Yogini Didi Satyavati Director of Brahmakumaris, North Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Arunachal from Tinsukia graced the occasion as chief guest.

Stayavati who has been serving human services for the last fifty years advises the gathering at TAMLA – DU Hall to imbibe spirituality for peace, happiness and drug free life style for the better growth of individual and the mankind as whole.

Sharing his experience and widespread opium affect in Anjaw and Lohit district, Lapalum Kri retired CE PHED says tentacle of opium in Mishmi society has been a cause of concern for which he is working on day one against the menace. “We are serious and committed to get rid of opium addiction up to the age group of 30 years by 2030.

In this challenging task the spiritual organisation like Brahmakumaris, who is closely working to rehabilitate the addicts would immensely help in our endeavor”, he hopes.  He further promises to extend his full support to bring up Rehabs centre at the earliest.

Former MLA Chowkham – Wakro Sokhia Dellang also expressed his serious concern on addiction and evokes wholehearted support from the organisation to joint hand to fight against the looming threat.

Sosai Manyu has generously donated half acres of land at the main market area and Dr Sopai Towsik senior Pathology Naharlagun General Hospital has undertaken to build the structure for the better cause of Mishmi Society.
