Arunachal : Former AAPSU leader Darasing Tayeng passes away

Former All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) leader Darasing Tayeng passed away here at Bakin Pertin Memorial General Hospital, Pasighat last evening at around 6 PM after a prolonged illness.

He  was suffering from cancer for last two years. His mortal remains is being laid to rest at his native village, Motum under Mebo circle .

His condition was deteriorated considerably and he stopped taking solid food for many days. His family members shifted him from RK Mission Hospital to Pasighat for further treatment on Saturday.

Popular as  ‘Dara Bhaiya’ late Tayeng served the apex students’ organization in different capacities such as IPR secretary, Convener, Vice-President and Speaker for a long time.

Meanwhile, AAPSU has deeply mourned the demise of Darasing Tayeng. In a condolence message, AAPSU President Hawa Bagang termed his death as a huge loss to the union and the State as a whole.

“Late Tayeng served the union sincerely for a long time. On his death, we have lost a great youth icon of the State,” Bagang said.

” He was a good human being and loved by students’ community. He had a long stint in AAPSU in different capacities. AAPSU will always remember his contributions to the students’ community of the State,” said AAPSU General Secretary, Tobom Dai.

The AAPSU further prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. All other students unions like AESDSU, AdiSU, AMCSU, ABSU (E) also deeply mourned the untimely demise of late Tayeng. He breathed his last at around 6 pm. He is survived by his ZPM wife Miti Libang and a daughter.
