Arunachal: Donyi Polo day celebrates across the state

The Donyi Polo day celebrated with much gaiety and prompt manner all over Arunachal. Nishi Indigenous faith and cultural society (NIFCS) rganised Donyi Polo day at the Nyokum ground, Bnaderdewa.
Attending the celebration special guest, Adviser to the Chief Minister, Tai Tagak sought for the preservation of age old tradition and of Donyi Polo to the expert and senior members of the society.
While encouraging the NIFCS for the wonderful programme, Tagak also concerned with the fast growing modern cultural influence in the tribal society, appeal all to pass the traditions and ritual knowledge of the ancestors to the younger generations.
During the programme an annual calendar of NIFCS was also released by the Tai Tagak. Organising Chairman T T Tara, NIFCS General Secretary Gichik Taaza senior leader Nabam Atum,
Former BJP President Taba Hare, youth leader Jikke Tako, Kipa Hipik and large numbers of believers of Dony Polo, NIFCS members and Donyi-Polo priest were present on the occasion.
Reports of celebration of Donyi Polo day also received from different parts of state. In Lower Dibang Valley the Donyi Polo day was celebrated at Balek wherein former Member of Parliament Laeta Umbrey attended as chief guest among others.
