After 12 (twelve) days of harsh life without electricity there seems to be no respite till day. Dibang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai have been still reeling under acute shortage of power since 13th July subsequent to the landslide and collapse of 132 KV Transmission Tower No. 43 of Aalo – Pasighat Line on 17th July at Bapuk village in Siang.

The Sources from Lohit power division says that the reinstallation may take another two week or more depending on weather condition. “Restoration work has started on war footing unfortunately rainy weather and toughness of terrain have foiled in expediting the renovation task”, informs the sources.

Further adding the poor future and instability of the Aalo – Pasighat 132 KV line in fetching the Eastern Most districts of Arunachal alternative Line is in need of hour. The long Transmission Line from Hoj in Lower Subansiri to Namsai districts is traversing through innumerable volatile hills, Valleys, vegetations and rivers causing breakdown in High Tension Line in every monsoon season that led to immense suffering of the public.

Alternative upgradation of power line from Rupai ( Assam ) could be right option”, suggests a an power  engineer.   “We thought after 132 KV line, power scenario would be in robust state but regrettably situation remains the worst still”, regrets one of the consumer in anonymity.

However, the consumers of Lohit district have been complaining of fluctuation of 33 KV power supply, irregularity and very low voltage.

It needs to be mentioned here that on 10th June 2017, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu dedicated the much – awaited Aalo – Pasighat – Roing – Tezu 132 KV Transmission services to the public of these districts.
