Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein today visited the fire-affected villages at Mabirah village where four houses were gutted down to ashes allegedly torched by some miscreants in Friday evening.
He interacted with the affected families and expressed his solidarity with them and termed the incidents very unfortunate. He assured to extend his personal assistance for their rehabilitation and asked the Deputy Commissioner, Namsai to provide immediate relief to the affected families as per the Govt norms and to assess the loss caused by the fire and submit it to the Govt at the earliest.
While condemning the incident, he once again appeals for restoration of peace and normalcy in the area. He appealed every one not to give the incident a communal colour rather work to rebuild the age-old relations and bonhomie that existed between the two communities.
He also met Khamti Chief, C K Namchoom (retired PCCF) and requested him to intervene and help to resolve the issue amicably with the apex body of Adi Baane Kebang and Tai Khamti Singpho Council.
He was accompanied by DC Namsai, Bijay Talukdar, AIGP, Apur Bitin, ADC O Lego, SP Ankit Singh and EAC Chongkham Rani Perme among others.
