Arunachal: Chowna Mein inaugurates play ground at Motum

Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein inaugurated a play ground at Motum constructed under SIDF in Mebo Sub-Division, East Siang District today. He also launched the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yozna at Motum.
Speaking on the occasion, Mein said that the Chief Minister led Pema Khandu Govt had initiated various welfare measures for the people of the State and the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yojna is one among such programmes.
Under CMAGY, an Adarsh village will be adopted and developed as a model village in each constituency for which the fund had been released, he said. He lauded the initiative of the local MLA saying that it is among the few constituency that has implemented the CMAGY successfully and assured to release the remaining fund.
He further said that the Mebo constituency had seen coming up of many quality infrastructures like Tiles floored Musup (community hall) at Motum, a large school auditorium at Borguli (in just Rs 50 lakhs) and a soundproof community hall at Mebo in the last few years. He lauded the executing agencies for their quality execution of works and judicious utilisation of fund.
He urged the people to continue to keep up their developmental oriented mindset and to do away with the habits of proposing schemes of individualistic nature.
Emphasizing on the road and air connectivity as one of the priority sector of the Govt, he further said that the district headquarters would also be interconnected by air service, once the Greefield Airport at Holonggi, Itanagar comes up.
Responding to the memorandum submitted by Mebo MLA and the public of Mebo Constituency, he assured to provide fund for Mebo to Patan Korong via Sigar Millitary Station, Flood protection work at Siku river and for public gallery in the newly inaugurated general ground at Motum.
He also said to look into their other demands under untied fund. Mebo MLA, Lombo Tayeng informed that Motum Village has been selected as the adarsh village under CMAGY scheme. He said that 39 beneficiaries had been distributed 70 CGI Sheets (each) under the scheme and to ensure construction of the housing structure, amount of Rs 35400 would directly transfer to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT.
However, he said that the 50% fund will be transferred after the real structure comes up in order to ensure utilization of the CGI Sheets by the actual beneficiaries”. He requested the State Govt to release the remaining balance amount under CMAGY at the earliest.
He also sought fund for flood protection work at Sikhu river saying that the diversion of river course towards the western bank every year is posing as a great threat to the bridge over Sikhu river vis-à-vis the NH-13 connecting Mebo Sub-Division with Pasighat.
On the occasion, the State BJP President, Tapir Gao, newly posted East Siang DC, Dr Kinny Singh and ADC Mebo, Hage Lailang also spoke. Mein launched the CMAGY at Motum Village by giving away the CGI sheets. Earlier, on the way to Motum, the dignitaries also inspected the eroded Sikhu river bank.
