Arunachal: CARA team to promote legal adoption in state

CARA team visited Arunachal to promote legal adoption in the state under the aegis of union minister of women and child development .

Chairman, Advisory Committee, Central Adoption Resource Agency (CARA) and Member NCPCR Mr.Ramachandra Reddy and   Members of Advisory Committee Smti  Nisha  Jha and Dr.G.Sreenu is on  three day visit to the State from  18/09/2018 for promoting adoption in the State of Arunachal Pradesh.

During their tour to the state, they visited the specialised Adoption Agency (SAA) and Children Home run by Oju Welfare Association (OWA) on 19/09/2018 forenoon. The team was accompanied by Smti T.P.Loyi Director, Women and Child Development Department and Smti Dani Yami, Deputy Director (ICDS) Yupia, Mr.Lenzing Tagi, CDPO (Hq), and Staffs of District Child Proection Unit Yupia, Papumpare District.

The Advisory Committee interacted with the children of the Child Care Institutions (CCI) and also seen the infants of the SAA and found satisfied with the facilities being provided. They praised Smti Ratan Anya, Chairperson, of OWA for her efforts and services to the society and commended for the best possible services to the children.

They also assured guidance and all possible support to strengthen the in the State of Arunachal Pradesh. Thereafter the team paid visit to the Child Care Institution run by Missionaries of Charity and interacted with the children and inspected the functioning of the CCI.

In the evening an interactive session was held with District Child Protection Officer, staff of District Child Protection Unit, NGOs running Child care Institutions and CWC members in the Conference Hall, State Legal Services Authority, Itanagar for promoting Adoption as per provisions of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015.

Then the team called on the Minister (WCD) Nabam Rebia and Commissioner (WCD). Minister WCD extended his full support for the Cause of Children’s well-being. He asked the visiting dignitaries to Suggestions and support to establish Specialised Adoption Agency in the State.

Minister also stated that the state govt is fully committed for the safety and security of children. Chairman Suggested to establish Specialised Adoption Agency in all the district of Arunachal Pradesh.
