Arunachal:  APRB organised Financial Literacy Camp at Balek village

Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank ( APRB ) organised a Financial Literacy and Awareness Programme for farmers of Balek Village .

As many as 30 people mainly farmers and SHG members attended the Financial Literacy and Awareness Programme (FLAP) organised by Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Roing Branch at Balek village in Lower Dibang Valley district. The Programme was supported by NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office, Itanagar.

P.B Chetry, Branch Manager, APRB Roing, welcomed all the participants of the programme. He briefed the gathering about the different types of accounts that can be maintained in a bank and also explained in detail about several benefits that can be availed by a customer having a bank account. He also spoke on Social security schemes viz. PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY. He emphasised on formation of Joint Liability Group (JLG) by the youths and carry out integrated farming approach.

Nitya Mili, DDM NABARD informed the gathering about the various interventions of NABARD in Arunachal Pradesh. He explained about various schemes of NABARD viz. Promotion of SHG, JLG & Farmers Club, Producers Organization, Rural Mart, Rural Haat, ACABC etc. He also briefed the participants about the CM Flagship schemes viz. CMKRY, DDUBY & DDUSY and GoI schemes viz. Mudra Yojana, SUI, DEDS & NLM.

K. Pandey, SMS (Horti) from KVK emphasized on value addition of crops and informed them that by adding little value to their crops will fetch them better return. He also informed that Soil Health cards were distributed by KVK to the farmers and advised them to check the health of their soil regularly before cultivation of any crop.

Few Rupay Debit cards were also handed over to the customers by APRB on the occasion.
