Arunachal: AAPLU demands job regularisation of casual workers, minimum wages
Itanagar
The All Arunachal Pradesh Labour’s Union (AAPLU) while reminding the Chief Minister of yet-to-be-approved minimum wages for the labour force urged CM to take immediate action on the matter.
AAPLU in a reminder letter submitted on Monday, said that State Advisory board had already submitted the representation on minimum wages for labour to govt passed during its meeting on September 14 last year, yet not approved by the government.
The labour union also requested the state government to create a state labour welfare board for labours working in various unorganized sectors.
Stating that the state’s 90% causal & contingency workers have been working for more than 20 to 30 years without promotion or regularization, the union strongly demanded the state government to regularize the causal staffs working in departments both APST and Non APST.
Meanwhile it also said that the move will facilitate in knowing total number of regular and non-regular labours of the state and asked for approval of head counting system in every department in the state.
