Arunachal: 3rd Convocation of  Arunachal University of Studies held

Prof.(Dr.) Trilochan Mohapatra, Director General – India Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)  graced the event as Chief Guest.

Arunachal University of Studies, , Namsai  celebrated its 3rd Convocation Ceremony on Saturday where twenty one (21) gold medallist along with 536 P.G & U.G. awardees attended the event.

Prof.(Dr.) Trilochan Mohapatra, Director General – India Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)  graced the event as Chief Guest.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, has been conferred upon the prestigious HONORIS CAUSA for his excellence in the research of Agricultural Science on “Doubling Farmer’s Income.  He lauded India’s stupendous performance in the Agricultural sector in his address. He pointed out India’s attainment of “self-sufficiency” in food production. He remarked that India’s success in ensuring food security is a role model for the developing countries. He also praised the Arunachal University of Studies attempt to cope up with challenges in this area and it support for the students in this remote place.

Before his speech Dr. Mohapatra inaugurated the newly constructed Agriculture Science Building in AUS campus and also visited an exhibition organised by the faculty of Agriculture Science. The exhibition displayed of indigenous vegetable seeds, herbs, research articles and ongoing research projects in the university. He exuded confidence that AUS would emerge as the leading institution in the field of Agricultural research in the country.

The event started with the colourful academic procession & walked to the Convocation Hall.   The Vice Chancellor delivered the inaugural speech where he welcomed the guests and students to the university. Before starting of the event  two minutes silence was maintained to honour the martyrs of the dastardly terror attack at Phulwama, in Jammu & Kashmir.

The event was chaired by Chancellor Kamal Lochan Agarwal. The dais of the glorious event was shared by Dr. A.L. Agarwal, President – World Education Mission (sponsoring body of AUS), Vishva Lochan, M.D. & Pro- Chancellor, Professor V.K. Kawatra, Vice Chancellor, Divyanshu Goel, Registrar, In addition to the above Prof.  A. Arunachalam, ADG, ICAR and recipient of M.S. Swaminathan award attended the convocation.

Later, the V.C. Prof. V.K. Kawatra  read out the convocation oath. The event came to an end with the vote of thanks given by the Registrar. Divyanshu Goel along with the National Anthem.
