Arunachal: 30th World AIDS Day observed all over state
The 30th World AIDS day was observed at Namsai, Jairmapur, Raga and several other places of Arunachal Pradesh.
Namsai
The 30th World AIDS day was observed at District Hospital Namsai. Chau Zingnu Namchoom, MLA 47 Namsai graced the occasion as chief guest and Dr. Tapasya Raghav, DC Namsai as guest of honour respectively. An impressive function was held today with the support of 186 Bn. CRPF, Namsai. The function was well attended by HoDs, staff, youths, CRPF jawans of 186 Bn.
Dr. Soreya Namchoom DMO welcomed all the participants who had turned out in good numbers. She urged everyone to spread the message on HIV/AIDS and make the district free from this dreadful disease.
Dr. Riken Rina, Project Director APSACS, Naharlagun narrated the history of evolution of HIV virus and one should take precaution since this virus has no vaccine. However, one can lead a normal life even if he is infected but with a proper medication.
Dr. Tapasya Raghav, IAS, DC Namsai while speaking on the occasion appealed one and all and urged the youths to cooperate the administration and other departments to eliminate this disease from the district. She also urged the parents of the drug addicts to assist the police and administration in dealing with the situation which is in the increasing trend in the district.
Chief Guest Ch. Zingnu Namchoom appeal everyone get tested to know ones status. He also informed that three youths from interior villages were found HIV positive and sought his assistance for undergoing treatment. This shows that none is immune to HIV virus and everyone should take precaution to make himself HIV free from this virus.

World AIDS Day has been observed in Jairampur by R.K. Mossang Memorial Society on 1st Dec’2018, a friendly football match between New Khamdu football club and Govt. hr. sec. school, Jairampur was arranged players of both the team and staff of the NGO giving the slogan passed in front of the spectators giving slogan on Anti AIDS .
RAGA
To mark the ‘world Aids day’ a mass awareness programme was held at Yada Ground, Raga in Kamle district. Addressing the gathering Kamle district Health Society Member Secretary and DRCHO Dr. Kapu Sopin delivered his lecture on awareness, protection and prevention from being infected by HIV and Aids. He said we should first know Aids for no Aids.
Pamphlets were also distributed on the occasion to the students and general public on the occasion. The pamphlets were also distributed to the gathering and people participating in rally which were part of the indigenous day celebration at Raga.
