The escaped fugitive had entered a house in Mirbuk village adjacent to Pasighat township who was found eating food in a kitchen without the knowledge of the house owners. As per Mirbuk village Secretary, Tarung Taning and Pasighat Municipal Council Ward No. 6 Councillor, Oyin Gao who is also resident of Mirbuk village informed that on Monday  afternoon that, a young boy of 15 years of the house informed the fugitive to the villagers through village WhatsApp group and police were informed.

Accordingly, villagers gheraod the house till police came to the spot to make the arrest. The young boy who requested not to be named said that he was with his aunty and aged grandfather at home as other family members were  at the agricultural field due to wetland agricultural season these days. “On hearing the dog barking and utensil noise  in the kitchen I peeped in from the wall and saw the guy and immediately informed the villagers through WhatsApp and the neighbor. But I don’t want to be named as there is a risk factor in coming out openly in the media as other UTPs are still on large”, added the boy.

Meanwhile village elders are appealing to the government to reward such a daring boy.

The intensive search operation for other remaining 6 UTPs are on and police are opining hope to nab others soon. DSP Tatak also informed a while ago that another escaped UTP, Subash Mandal was seen by farmers near Magnang village early 4 am today morning who fled into Poba RF near the village. Combing search operation is being carried out now in the Reserve Forest, informed the police. It is important to mention here that Poba Reserve Forest is near the Assam-Arunachal boundary, which if managed to cross the border may be difficult to be traced out again.

As per the latest update of the case from OC Pasighat Otu Gao, police couldn’t make any more arrests and Subash Mandol couldn’t be traced out from Poba RF till this evening. However, a manhunt is on.
