Arunachal: 1 died on spot, 9 injured in road accident near Gumto

Tata Winger while on its route from Pasighat to Itanagar meet with an accident when a tyre of the vehicle reportedly burst and the driver lost control.

One person died on spot while 9 injured in a road accident near Gumto check gate of Papum Pare district today.

Papum Pare Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo inform this daily that a Tata winger bearing registration No- AR 09A 7658 (Passenger vehicle) meet with an accident near Golajuli village around 3 kilometre away from Gumto Check post under Lalok Police Station of North Lakhimpur district, Assam today morning. The ill fated vehicle was on its route  from Pasighat to Itanagar. The vehicle was driven by one Suraj.

Reportedly One person succumbed to injury. As per report of Gumto Check Post Incharge the deceased have been identified as Gejum Lollen, s/o Late Marge Lollen of Kombo Papak, Aalo of West Siang district.

Lalok Police Station OC Ajit Kumar Bhuyan while talking to Arunachal24  said that the vehicle (Tata Winger) while on its route from Pasighat to Itanagar meet with an accident when a tyre of the vehicle reportedly burst and the driver lost control over the vehicle and meet with the accident. The accident took place at around 10.30 AM near Golajuli in Harmuty Out Post area near Gumto Check Post of Papum Pare district. as per information there was 11 passenger in board including the driver.

One person died on spot while 9 injured out of which Eight are grievously. The injured were first admitted at Lalok health centre but later evacuated to Civil Hospital at North Lakhimpur. Bhuyan said.

Since it is the matter of accident so the priority was to take care of the injured persons, a case will be registered while investigation have already been launched. OC Bhuyan added.
