Army Public School, Tezpur undertook the noble initiative of collecting and distributing relief items to the flood victims and provide immediate support to the affected population.
The state of Assam has recently experienced a devastating flood due to torrential rain for several weeks, causing immense damage to lives and property. Thousands of people have been left homeless and they are now living in inhuman conditions at different flood-shelter centers across the state.
Students and staff generously donated food items such as rice grains, pulses, biscuits, milk powder, sugar, drinking water bottles and clothes for the cause.
On 21st August 2017, a team comprising of teacher representatives, student representatives and Administrative staff representatives visited the worst affected areas of Kaliabor in Nagaon District to distribute the items to the flood victims.
This step taken by APS Tezpur, has not only helped the victims in their hour of distress but also sensitized the students on the values of helping and to enjoy the joy of sharing.
