Air Marshal Anil Khosla Calls on Arunachal CM Pema Khandu

Air Marshal Anil Khosla, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu today along with his senior officials.

The meeting also attended by Chief Secretary Satya Gopal discussed on matters related to strengthening the presence of Indian Air Force (IAF) in the state.

The Chief Minister assured his commitment and support for the Indian Defence Forces in the larger interest of the nation.

The Chief Minister in his discussion with IAF officials explored on possibilities for construction of ALGs in Vijaynagar and Tawang for operation of fixed-wing aircraft.

He said Arunachal is making improvement in air connectivity and informed that an airport for state capital Itanagar has been cleared by DGCA with Hollongi as its site. He also informed that work is on completion in the state’s first civilian airport in Tezu.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to IAF for dual use of ALGs, which will be of great help to citizens of Arunachal. He also sought full cooperation of IAF especially during natural calamities.

The CM further took confidence of IAF in matter related to inter-state boundary issue. It was assured that IAF being committed to nation’s service would always play a positive and neutral role in such disputes.
