Arunachal: Bus runs over 3-year old girl, driver arrested

Police has proved that ” no one is above the law” after arresting of a IRBN driver, who was driving a bus and hit a 3-year old girl who was killed on the spot on Friday.
A hit and run case was reported on 15th Nov, 2019 at Roing Police Station by one Binod Sober, a contractual labourer under GREF stating that a bus (suspected to be of police department) has run over his girl child Meena Sober, aged 3 years. The girl was rushed to the District Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
After receipt of the written FIR a case vide Roing PS Case No-74/2019 u/s 279/304-A IPC was registered at Roing Police Station and the case was taken up by L/SI A. Pansa for investigation.
As we are well aware that due to law and order situation in the neighbouring district, forces are being mobilised in huge numbers which implies that quite a large number of police buses ply through the PO on a daily basis.
The investigation team took out the list of all those buses and after meticulous examination of records and CCTV footage, the said bus was identified.
Taking swift action the said bus driver was arrested on 16/11/2019 after he had surrendered on being summoned by the investigation team.
The said driver has been identified as Yumto Romin, 34-years (Dvr. H/C 1st IRBN Pasighat ) resident of Lige village under Liromoba police station of west siang dist. Investigation team has also seized the bus bearing registration no. AR-01G-4067.
SP Lower Dibang Valley while congratulating his police team has gone on record to state that no one is above law, be it police or anybody else.
He had also expressed sadness over the loss of life of a child and hoped that people drive safely and sensibly in the district.
