5th BRICS Youth Summit: Pinggam, Dakpe from Arunachal represent India

Representing India, on the panel Junnu Pingam, presented on the theme “Socio emotional skill- importance of soft skill” out of the five themes given at the event.

Miss Junnu Pinggam and Lombi Dakpe of Arunachal represented India at 5th BRICS Youth Summit held in Brasilia, Brazil from 17th to 20th October. Both Junnu and Lombi were among the 15 Indian delegates attended in the youth summit.

Youths from the different BRICS nations except China gathered, to debate on youths of today and to discuss about the policies to promote entrepreneurship, education, skills, and building bridge to improve relationship among BRICS nations.

Representing India, on the panel Junnu Pingam, presented on the theme “Socio emotional skill- importance of soft skill” out of the five themes given at the event.

Stressing on the importance of acquiring the communication skills in current rapid growing world, Junnu in her presentation outlined that due to lack of  ‘soft skill’ the unemployment rate is alarmingly increasing among the  millions of graduated  students.

She also presented the reality of Indian youths in rural  and urban areas adding that due to lack of transportation, connectivity in Indigenous villages, many students have less chance of improving themselves.

The respective BRICS nations have presented their presentation and recommendations on the various topics. There were also discussions about the free visa for Indian to Brazil by Indian representation which has been recently granted.

BRICS is the group composed by the five major emerging countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The acronym BRICS was coined by Goldman Sachs in 2001 to indicate the emerging powers that would be, alongside the United States, the five largest economies of the world in the 21st century.
