Yoga helps to maintain energy, strength, and relieve stress- Pema Khandu

“Yoga is not only good for our physical and mental health, but its helps to maintain energy, strength, and relieve stress. Especially it is good for us in the government as our work involves lots of stress,” said the Chief Minister Pema Khandu  in his address delivered after the yogic event.

Pema Khandu today led the state in celebrating the third International Yoga Day organised jointly by several cultural organisations of the state.

The Chief Minister launched the event by ‘deep prajwalan’ along with Health Minister Jomde Kena, Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, Parliamentary Secretary Tamar Murtem, State BJP President Tapir Gao, Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin and others.

Hundreds of school children, senior officials including several public leaders participated in the Yoga Day event held at IG Park.

He appealed the gathering to practise yoga daily in their life stressing that through good care of one’s mental and physical well being, a person could contribute positively to the society.

The Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making yoga a “global event” and appreciated his effort in promoting Indian culture to the world. He said it was on suggestion from Prime Minister that UN accepted to make the yoga, a global event.

To promote yoga in Arunachal, the Chief Minister announced to depute yoga teachers in all state government run schools, which would be proposed in the cabinet. He also announced to make the celebration of international yoga day in the state as state government sponsored event from next year.

Taking note of rich potential of state in Ayurveda, the Chief Minister announced to set up a directorate of Ayush, which he informed that the matter has been communicated already to the government of India.

Addressing the audience that comprised largely of school children, the Chief Minister informed that state government has firmed up to rationalise more than 2000 teachers posting by transferring where there is shortage.

He appealed all the politicians and bureaucrats not to interfere once the order for teachers transfer and posting comes out.

He said even after completion of exercise for rationalisation of teachers posting, the state government would require more than 1000 teachers for which posts would be created in phase wise.

Further to meet up teachers’ shortage, the Chief Minister informed to regularise SSA teachers on phase wise with condition that they must qualify either the CTET or APTET examination.

Health Minister and Advisor to CM, Tai Tagak also spoke on the occasion.
