The International Cricket Council (ICC) today unveiled the logo for the ICC World Twenty20 2016 tournament, which will be hosted by India from March 11 to April 3. The world body shared the image on their official Twitter account. The final of the event will be played at the famous Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
After a gap of 28 years the ground is set to host a mega final. Bangalore, Chennai, Dharamshala, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi are the other locations which will play host to matches. The world cricket body also shared a premier to the event on Twitter.
Later, the ICC asked the fans to share their thoughts on the logo. “What are your thoughts on the brand new #WT20 logo that has just been released today?,” it tweeted.
In January this year, ICC confirmed that India will host World T20 for the first time. So far 5 editions have been played. India won the inaugural event in 2007 in South Africa, beating arch rivals Pakistan in the final. No team has won the title more than once.
