Women allegedly assault a Doctor in JMCH

A untoward incident took place in Jorhat Medical College Hospital ( JMCH ) on Tuesday when a women assaulted a doctor who was on duty, when the doctor refused to issue a false certificate to the patient. The woman was an attendant of the patient who is also a fourth grade employee at the hospital.

The patient was under treatment at JMCH from the past few days and her female attendant asked the doctor for a false certificate for rest for the patient. The doctor refused to issue the same to her as ,  due to which she allegedly became angry and slapped the doctor.

Meanwhile the police arrested the woman from JMCH on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in assaulting a doctor at the hospital and the Investigation is on. According to the police, the accused woman was identified as Rehena of Bokakhat in Golaghat district.

“The victim doctor lodged an FIR at Jorhat sadar police station and a case has been registered bearing No. 546/ 17 under section 447, 332, 353 of IPC against the accused. The accused woman has also been arrested from the hospital.”

On the other hand a sit and demonstration has called by the JMCSA, JMCTA,  and JMCH Employees Association with the support hospital authorities on Wednesday to register their protest against the incident which is a humiliation to the whole medical fraternity.
