We cannot fight with nature directly for our existence on earth but we can learn to stay with the nature keeping all precautionary measure for our safety and security says Minister Urban Development and Land Management Nabam Rebia to local people at Kolma and Huto village of Doimukh today
Rebia alongwith DC Papum Pare Tai Kaye, SDO Doimukh Ibom Tao, AE WRD Nich Apa, ASMC Yab Lotus, ASM T Podomi, senior citizen and youth leaders today visited flood hit Huto and Kolma villages in Doimukh circle and other places affected by heavy downpour.
The team inspected the land protection constructed by the NEEPCO and state government along the bank of river Dikrong after the heavy downpour it overflow and broke few boulder wall and spur on river bank which was made to protect these area including the Doimukh township, they find that few protection wall have been damaged and few are under threat by the huge volume of river water yesterday and severe concern of the people of Doimukh area.
They also visited other parts of Doimukh township and issue direction to the administration for maintaining precautionary measure from overflowing Dikrong river and nature fury.
Talking to arunachal24 Rebia said that it is high time during the monsoon to keep ourselves safe from secure from nature fury, we should keep our self aware and alert during such period, we cannot fight nature as we are a part of nature so we need to stay maintaining safety and security otherwise we may face situation like flood, landslide etc which have been experienced in Uttrakhand, Nepal and many others. Rebia while said that he will request the department concern for preparing of proposals for raising of height of the land protection measures along the bank of river Dikrong for protection of life and property of Doimukh township.
About the news circulating of hanging bridge (lifeline of Tarasso on river Pare) at Ranghat which is about to collapse he said that a new bridge have been approved, tender process completed and work is being started and very soon a strong bridge may be constructed in place of old one.
He appeal the people not to construct houses on the river bank, he suggested to stop digging of river bed for obtaining boulder/sand and gravels which also add to the destruction of river bank and then to human life and property.
DC, Papum Pare Tai Kaye said the district administration is alert and keeping a vigil of the natural calamity and ready for anu eventuality.
He warned the rumour mongers not to create panic among the citizens of strict action. He said that the NEEPCO is constructing dam and is under construction, there is no reservoir on upside and there no question of discharging of huge volume of water as there is no reservoir and the window/gate of wall is always open and flowing continuously without stopping at the project site. Eventhough he is monitoring the situation if any issue arse any parts of the district due to natural calamity. He also appeal one and all not to venture in river side during the flood and stay away in such period.
Moreover SDO Doimukh said that the local administration have already alerted all line depatt and local police and PRI leaders for ready to help during the natural calamity during the emergency.
