 water supply affected in Itanagar as pipeline damaged due to landslide 

Water supply to most part of Itanagar capital city was disrupted as a main water supply pipe line has been damaged due to landslide at Poma Village

The main water supply line of 450 mm dia feeding drinking water supply to Itanagar Township has been damaged by landslide occurred at Poma village due torrential rainfall on Wednesday night and will take two days to restore, informed Executive Engineer, PHE&WS Division Itanagar through a press release.

It is also informed that men and machineries have been deployed for early restoration but it will take 2 days to restore the water supply.

“In the  meantime, the water tanker of PHED shall be pressed in to services when and where will be required in affected areas,” further added in the release.

Various place in Itanagar township will be affected such as Gohpur,  Dera Natung government college area,  Ganga area,  old IGP partially Secretariat, Assembly,  SRPL Khating hill, Vivek vihar police colony,  Arunachal Pradesh Police Battalion at Chimpu etc.

It is also informed that the department water tanker shall cater the supply when and where needs on emergency basis and the water supply will be restored by August 10.
