ULFA(I) leader neutralised after two day long Operation in Tinsukia

After a two day long Operation,  an Army team succeed in neutralising a Self Styled Sergeant Major Rongmon  Asom @ Mecuri of ULFA (I) in Talpathar village of Tinsukia district of Assam on 27th April, 2016.ULFA-LEADER

The operation was launched on 25th April, 2016, on the basis of a specific information regarding the movement of Self Styled ULFA (I) Sergeant Major Rongmon  Asom @ Mecuri.

An AK-81 assault rifle along with a magazine and some other items were recovered from the spot. A thorough search operation is currently in progress.

the Self Styled Sergeant Major Rongmon  Asom @ Mecuri was a dreaded senior ULFA(I) leader who led a group of terrorists and  was active in upper Assam for a long time. He was actively involved in killing/extortion activities in the area.

His neutralization is a serious blow to the dwindling morale of ULFA (I) and will severely dent their resurgence effort.
