Traning Programme on Cold Water Fish Culture

Three days training programme on “Cold Water Fish Culture: An Innovative Approach for Sustainable Development in Hill Area of Anjaw Dist., Arunachal Pradesh” sponsored by NFDB, Hyderabad was successfully conducted by KVK Anjaw from 6th to 8th February, 2017. This is the first initiative taken by this KVK to promote the commercial farming of cold water fishes in the district.

Altogether, 25 nos farmers including, farm women and rural youths participated the training programme. The programme started with the formal welcome speech delivered by Dr. M.  Kanwat, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Anjaw, he emphasized the importance of fish farming in NEH Region and how farmer, rural youths, school dropout student can start the profitable venture and earn the handsome amount. He also focused on how the KVK scientist help you in different sense.

Prasanta Mahanta, Course Director, highlighted the major area covered during the 3 days programme i.e. Role of Fish in Human Nutrition, Fish Farming for Income Generation and Self Employment, Site Selection & Construction/Preparation of Ponds in Hill Area, Mission, Objectives, activities and  different schemes of NFDB.

Scientist from Division of Agril. Engg, ICAR Umiam, KVK Scientists, State Fishery department official also spoke on the occasion.

In the valedictory session, Major Ravindra Kumar, Army Camp, Hayuliang graced the occasion as chief guest and distributed the certificate to the participants after successfully completion of the training programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Tilling Tayo, SMS (Animal Science.).
