Swachhata Hi Seva: mass cleanliness drive held in Tawang
Today a mass cleanliness drive was organized in Tawang under the campaign of “Swachhata Hi Seva” in which people from all sections participated .

In continuation of the meeting cum workshop held at DC conference hall on the afternoon of 20th September 2019 under the Chairmanship of DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok, regarding “Action plan for implementation of Swachhata Hi Seva” and Plastic waste management for Tawang district, wherein Padma Shree Lama Thupten Phuntsok has been appointed as Brand Ambassador for Swachhata Hi Seva for Tawang.
Today a mass cleanliness drive was organized in which Tawang township was divided into 29 sectors, people from all sections participated in the mass cleanliness drive. DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok alongwith ADC and other officers supervised and involved themselves with mass in making Tawang plastic free.
Meanwhile the members from Aalo Elite Housewife society and NGO from Aalo gave awareness to the public near Masang Dung Rhue Mey at Old market, Tawang.
Lobsang Tsering Adl. DC Tawang in his welcome address to the AEHS members to Tawang said “we have heard about the contribution of AEHS in cleanliness drives,” he further informed them about various cleanliness drives being carried out in Tawang.
Mrs Gedam Kamsi, Secretary of the NGO AEHS Aalo also addressed the gathering informing about their NGO and how it works, she also handed over paper bags made out of newspaper and other paper wastes to the representatives of bazaar community of Tawang.
This was followed by taking of plastic free pledge administered by Adl. DC Tawang Lobsang Tsering and participation in mass cleanliness drive. People were found plogging along with other public involved in cleanliness drive.
