Supreme Court recalls notice issued to Governor JP Rajkhowa

Responding to centre’s pleas, the 5 judge constitutional bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice Khehar today recalled the notice issues to the  Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa.

In view of the provisions stated in Article 361 of the Indian Constitution where the  Governor  and President is not answerable to any court in regards to dispensing their duty and exercising their power, the court recalled the notice sent to the Governor.

Also court has directed the office of the Governor to return all the documents in original form or the xerox copies to the former chief minister Tuki and members of his cabinet.

Advocate representing Rajkhowa informed to the media that as per Article 361, the apex court recalled the notice. The next date of hearing is February 2. The court will February 2 take up the matter of disqualification of 14 MLAs.
