Lazu- Mini stadium Inaugurated
MLA- Tirong Aboh from Khonsa west, inaugurated Mini Outdoor Stadium at Lazu on Friday. The mini stadium was construct at the cost of Rs. 1 crore under BADP/SPA by the PWD. On the occasion MLA Tirong Aboh said that politics should not be played in whole five years without any developmental work instead public leader must work impartially in their respective constituencies forgetting creed, cast, religion and region for rapid development of any constituency. Mr Tirong Said that Lazu and Dadam circles are most backward area in comparison with other circles in the district. The MLA has also appreciated the PWD for timely completion and efficient quality of the work. The MLA has announced an amount of Rs. 1 lakh each to all fire victims of his constituency as assurance given by HCM Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu.
Itanagar- Lognding DCC (I) President no More
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has deeply mourned the sad and untimely demise of Lognding DCC (I) President late Hokai Lukham who breathed his last at a Shillong hospital yesterday. Recalling his close association with late Lukham during his tenure as DCC (I) President, Pema termed him as honest, humble and dedicated party leader. They had attended several meetings together and shared views and ideas to strengthen the party. Chief Minister in his condolence message has expressed deep sorrow and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He also prayed to almighty to bestow enough strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear with the irreparable loss.
MLA Tirong Aboh urged the people of his constituency to stop opium/poppy cultivation and appeal to adopt cash crops cultivation like large cardamom, large chilly and large ginger, piggery, fishery, poultry as soil in the Dadam and Lazu region is quite fertile and favorable for such cash crops. Further the MLA urged all working agency/department as well as contractor to implement govt. schemes under various project to implement properly adding that Moktowa village has earned crore money from large cardamom and large ginger cultivation since last few years. Mr Tirong has made this appeal while he was addressing a huge gathering during the inauguration of a Mini stadium.
At least Three houses washed away in a massive landslide occurred at Kelengteng and Kharman villages on Thursday night. As per the information received from the remote areas the two villages remains cut-off, two residential buildings, a WWF camp site and the office building of Community Conserve Area Management Committee were also swept away. The landslide was triggered by the incessant rains in the area for the last few days. The ITBP has also reported washing away of the steel suspension bridge on the porter track from Log Bridge to Khukhri in the strategic Indo-China border in Zemithang.
A district level coordination committee meeting cum workshop on National De-worming Day was held at the DC’s office on Friday. In the meeting DC In-charge Bani Lego said care should be taken while administering the de-worming tablets and emphasized on training the ASHAs and AWWs for administering the medicine. PRI leaders and councilors should spread awareness in the society so that all parents could bring their children aged 1 to 19 years, to avail free of cost Albendazole de-worming tablets to eradicate worm diseases. DMO Dr. M Perme informed that East Siang District would join with rest parts of the nation for successful implementation of NDD on August 17 and a Mop-up Day to be followed on August 23 next to those children who were missed. He gave emphasis on the role of the Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and PRI members at the grassroot level and said that the success of the program lies on their sincerity.
