State News in Brief- Candlelight March in Solidarity of Late Kalikho Pul

Tawang- Candle Light March

Candlelight-marchA candlelight march is being organized in solidarity of former chief minister late Kalikho Pul on August 11 at different place all over the state and other cities of the country like Guwahati, Shillong, Delhi etc. In Capital city Itanagar the candle light procession starts from from Tennis Court, IG Park to Akashdeep by the relatives and well wishers. All well-wishers, relatives, close friends and students are requested to join the candle march to express solidarity with the departed leader. In Tawang also Candle light march has been taken out.

Daporijo- Govt Official Arrested 

Five government officials allegedly involved in preparing fake and bogus compensation bill in connection with Trans Arunachal Highway stretch from Bopi to Tai in Upper Subansiri district under Potin-Pagin (TAH) were arrested by Daporijo Police under section 465/468/471/120(B) of IPC. The arrested persons were produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC).Later, the court remanded them in police custody for 4 days.In this connection, the SP had constituted a special investigation team comprising police officers.“The preliminary investigation has confirmed prima- facie commission of criminal offences by the officials and “law will take its own course.”The case is being closely supervised and monitored by the SP.

power-channelTawang- power channel Damaged 

Rainfall triggered strong flash flood at Tserkang Rong has completely damaged the 40 meter long aqueduct and power channel of Mukto MHS over Shaikangchu (3x2000KW) at Gongkhar. The damaged portion of RCC channel has rolled 500 mtrs away from the earlier location. DHPD (Civil) EE, who inspected the site to take stock of the situation confirmed the severity of the damage and informed that the restoration work would take much time. Further, heavy landslides have also been reported between the Gongkhar to Grenghar road.

YinKiong- Solung Tourney begins 

Solung Tourney began in a colourful note with mega folk dance and paraded from 21 participating team at General Ground, Yingkiong today. Addressing the players in the opening ceremony, DC Remo Kamki expressed happiness over the participation and enthusiasm of the players. He advised them to maintained sportsmanship spirit by playing the game in the spirit of the game. Adding that winning and losing is the part of the game and hence there shouldn’t any incidents during the tournament for which he asked the Committee to monitor and supervised up to the final match.

khonsa-mass-serviceKhonsa- Mass Social Service

56-Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh conducted Mass Social Service of 20 kms PMGSY link road from Tirathjo to Laho village involving 4(four) villages of Huakan, Dadam, Chinkoi and Laho on 9th August amidst huge gathering of villagers. On the occasion MLA said that mass social service locally known as Lamsaam is was one of the important part of tribal life in Nocte community since the time immemorial. The MLA has announced Rs. 3 lakh from his MLA LAD to the villagers of four villages as a part of incentives for porter track clearance. The road from Tirathjo to Laho village is a lifeline of four villages of Dadam circle. Villagers of four villages have appreciated the initiative of local MLA. The day long social service programme was followed by community feast comprising of four villages in different places. The MLA was accompanied by Dy. Commandant CRPF Dadam and OC Police Station, Dadam.

Mechuka- Cleanliness drive

In keeping with the spirit of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Mechukha carried out its fourth phase of mass cleanliness drive in Mechukha town on Wednesday.The drive was conducted under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mechukha with full support and participation of hundreds of volunteers from students, general public, paramilitary and army personnel and government staffs.During the mass cleanliness drive the volunteers cleaned up various places in the entire town. Meanwhile, lauding the volunteers for their noble gesture, ADC appealed to all to extend their support towards keeping the Mechukha town clean and green which was one of the most sought after tourism hotspot in the state.
