South Asian Game Round-up Indian athletes won Gold in 400m Men and Women Hurdles in 12th SAG today. A. Dharuna and Jauna Murmu won Gold Medals. Jithin Paul (India) bagged Silver in 400m Men’s Hurdles and Ashwani Akunnji (India)won the Silver in Women’s Hurdle.

Mahboob Ali of Pakistan won Bronze in 400m Men’s Hurdles while Sri Lanka’s Kawshalya settled for Bronze in 400m Women’s Hurdle event.

Om Prakash Singh won the Gold Medal and Jasdeep Singh won Silver Medal in Shot Put while Pakistani athlete Muhammad Waseem won Bronze Medal.

Indian women got Gold and Silver in Javelin Throw also today in 12th SAG. Suman Devi got Gold and Annu Rani won Silver. B.L. Nadeeka Lakmali of Sri Lanka bagged the Bronze Medal.

In Men’s Triple Jump medals were shared between India and Pakistan. Ranjith Maheswari and J. Srendhar, both Indian won Gold and Silver respectively. Pakistan’s Muhammad Afzal won Bronze medal.

Women Football

India were held to yet another goalless draw, this time by a resilient Nepal side when they locked horns on Thursday in a South Asian Games women’s football match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The evenly matched contest saw shots being fired on either half but all attempts eventually went in vain as the match ended 0-0 by full time. India’s key forward Grace Dangmei was carried out on a stretcher after suffering an injury sometime around the 38th minute before being replaced by an impressive Bala Devi who was in the thick of action especially in the latter half.

Shooting

Indian Shooter clinched Gold in three categories at the 12th SAG today. Chain Singh won Gold in 50m Rifle Prone Men Individual, Samaresh Jung in 25m Center Fire Pistol Men Individual and Gagan Narang, Chain Singh, Surendra Singh Rathod in 50m Rifle Prone Men Team.

Pemba Tamang won Silver while Vijay Kumar of India settled for Bronze medal in 25m Center Fire Pistol Men Individual. Gagan Narang of India won Silver and Pakistan’s Umar Siddhique won Bronze medal in 50m Rifle Prone Men Individual event.

Pakistani team Siddhique Umar, Midrar Ali, Amir Muhammad won Silver while Bronze medal goes to Sri Lanka’s S.M.M. Samarakoon, W.K.Y. Krishantha, P.H.W. Karunarathna in in 50m Rifle Prone Men Team.
