Seppa United Cricket Club wins Lokup Yangfo T-20 cricket match

Seppa United Cricket Club (SUCC) won the final of first ever Late. Lokup Yangfo T-20 cricket match played against Hurricane XI by 14 runs on Thursday at Seppa general ground.

Winning the toss and chose to bat SUCC set a minimal target of 97 runs in 18.3 over with all wickets down. Tabom Ngomle scored the highest 21 run for the team playing 29 balls and Judi Bagang scored 16 runs in 5 balls which include 1 boundary and 2 sixes. Adding to the score sheet Bruce Tallong scored 11 runs in 6 balls remaining not out for the team.

Pradip Darnal bowling for the Hurricane XI took 4 wickets in 4 over conceding only 17 runs and Sams Alam took 3 wickets in 3.3 over conceding 20 runs to the opponent.

Meanwhile chasing the winning target Hurricane XI scored 83 runs with 9 wickets down in 20 over. Sams Alam scored only the highest score of 30 runs in 38 balls which included 2 boundary and 1 six.

Attending the final match as chief guest state parliamentary secretary Industries, Textiles & Handicrafts Karya Bagang gave over the winning trophy along with a cash prize of 1 Lakhs to the SUCC and an amount of 50,000 to the runner up team.

The organizer committee East Kameng Sporting Club (EKSC) submitted a memorandum to the chief guest to rename the seppa general ground to Late.Lokup Sono Yangfo ground.

Man of the match was bagged by Purna Tamang for taking 4 wickets in 4 over conceding 14 runs, Pradeep Kr. Rajbar of Hurricane XI with man of the series, Sams Alam of Hurricane XI with highest wicket taker and the Anye Donyi cricket club bagged the fair play award.

The tournament was organized by the East Kameng Sporting Club (EKSC) which was earlier kicked off at the general ground seppa on 9th December. East Kameng superintendent of police and EKSWCO general secretary Nikam Tallang inaugurated the tournament as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
