State Bank of India (SBI) in its social responsibility scheme today donated school furniture, dining tables, plastic chairs and fans to Donyi Polo School of Hearing Impaired and Visually impaired located at Chimpu.
Addressing the gathering Chief General Manager, (SBI) P.V.S.L.N Murty said that it gives immense pleasure to be with the children here. He was mesmerised by the cultural performances of the students. Murty said that we are able persons not able to do all the works properly and on other hand these children who are getting their education and would give them an opportunity to serve for themselves, he thanks the person who have chose to open such institution which shows way to many such children who are differently able and wish good luck for the teaching faculty, students and payer to god for their bright future ahead.
Sr Teacher Lepcha said that Donyi Polo Hearing Impaired which established in the year 1994 while Visually Impaired in 2009 serving for the suffering of the humanity specially to the students in the field of education and skill development. So far there are 117 students studying at present while 86 students have so far passed and many of them have been employed in various department and self employed.
Both school do not charge a single penny from the students and run on the fund based with the state government yearly basis monitored by administration, there are problems with day scholars so the parents prefer to keep them in hostel and we are managing since inception with full care of these children. He thanks the former Chief Minister Gegong Apang for his initiative in moulding and andding human value with skill to these children for their self reliant
DGM, (SBI) Administrative Office, Dibrugarh Tilak Kumar Dhar in his address said that it is happy to see the cleanness in the campus and find very happy to contribute some from our part to the school in its endevious. Special Teacher (HI & VI) A Goswami, A Dey also address the gathering.
Earlier the guests visited all the class room, library, paper recycle unit, and other school activities and also interacted with the students.
While talking to this daily Murty said that the SBI have been doing these works and best utilising its CSR scheme supporting the society through these scheme upto possible limit but the jurisdiction is all NE region so he have to take care of all area. However he have been contributing and supporting many schools and like Abo-Tani Vidya Niketan at Pachin, donated furniture in School at Ziro, an application pending for School Van and few other would be done soon from time to time.
He further also appeal all sectors of society to come forward for supporting philanthropic works for human value and development Murty added.
