Ace Mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa was felicitated by State Bank of India in a glittering function held on Saturday, 1st July at Nehru Centre Mumbai. The function coinciding with 62nd Bank Day celebration was organised with much fanfare and gaiety which was attended by top officials from RBI & Ministry of Finance, Managing Directors, Executives of Public – Private sector banks, corporate houses and eminent business persons. The jam packed hall of more than 2000 people gave standing ovation when Anshu climbed to the podium and received the citation and cash award of Rs.5 Lakh from SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.
SBI was one of the major sponsors of Anshu Jamsenpa’s Double Ascend Mt Everest Expedition 2017 wherein she created a new world record by climbing Mt Everest twice in 5 days. She extended her gratitude to SBI family specially CGM PVLSN Murthy for the moral and financial support. She also added that an empowered women can help empower other women and Madam Arundhati is a living example.
Speaking on the occasion SBI Chairperson Arundhati thanked Anshu for making Indians across the world proud and for unfurling the national flag along with SBI logo on the top of the world during her historic mountaineering event recently. She said that SBI is always there to support outstanding sports persons, social workers and entrepreneurs. She appreciated social change maker and go-gater like Anshu for her untiring hard work which ultimately resulted in success.
The gala evening ended with a spectacular cultural programme featuring star performance by renowned Bollywood singer KK and his troupe who enthralled the audience with his captivating song and music.
