Salman Khan gets 5yrs Jail term in Blackbuck Poaching Case

The Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been given a five-year jail sentence after he was found guilty of poaching two blackbuck in Kankani village, Jodhpur, during the shooting of “Hum Saath Saath Hain”. Salman was also fined a relatively small sum of money — 10,000 rupees

However Actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam, the co-accused in the case, have been acquitted by the court.

On October 2, 1998, the Bishnoi community of Rajasthan filed a complaint against the actors, for allegedly hunting down two blackbucks during the filming of the movie. The trial of the case was in progress for the last 19 years.
