Delhi Bar Association on it’s 125th Centenary Celebration honoured Robin Hibu, NORTH EAST NODAL OFFICER at Delhi to be Guest of Honour cum Experiences sharing speech followed by felicitation to him along with Nobel Peace Prize Winner of 2014 legendary Social worker Shri Kailash Satyarthi, founder of NGO Bachpan Bachao feliciated by senior most Delhi High Court Judge amidst jammed packed august hall of lawyers presided over by Honourable Justice Sidhart Mridul of Delhi High Court amidst thousands of lawyers.
Robin Hibu, shared his experiences of weeping tears from victims of crimes of north east people, how he struggled to empower them through DPNER, reach out through social media – Facebook ( delhi police for northeast folks), 22 whatsapp groups, 1093 NE Helpline, starting of Special Unit for North East People, special recruitment of 610 cops from north east, land allotment, NE PCR iniative, pocket money mobilisation for burials etc.
Robin profusely thanked Delhi Bar Association for standing like rock behind north east people in many cases specially in the case of brutal assault of north east female lawyer from Arunachal at Tis Hazari Court premise, while was with north east molestation victim early this year.
Robin furtherI narrated how, north east people, especially youth are facing problems of discriminations, apathy, exploitations etc in number of occasions in Delhi.
Robin also appealed them to visit north east states with their families to experience gentle touch of genuine hospitality especially during festivals like Horn Bill, Sangai Festival, Tawang Festival etc and to see our mosaic culture and heritage.
He also expressed the north east people’s gratitude with repeated reminders of our greatfulness to those kind hearted Delhi citizens who helped distressed North East people with the terse in Hindi ” “kaun kehta he ki delhi walon ka dil naheen hai “
Robin also narrated them examples of Solanki brother & sister, kuldip chana, shekhar tokas….and others, who touched our hearts by their help & assistance to our people in distressed.
Robin said to gathering “Now it’s our turn to show our kindness, positivism and above all make genuine friendships with other Indians in cities and also back home, after all we are Indian first”
