Chief minister Pema Khandu have initiated to bring a new investment policy which help to create a opportunities and open new avenues for investment in the state. Keeping this in mind chief minister Khandu launched “Restructured Chief Minister’s Paryatan Vikas Yojna” .

Flagging-off-CMPVY-2During the inauguration of this Yojna Khandu informed that a Committee under the Chief Secretary has been entrusted to draft the new policy, which will be soon vetted through the cabinet.

“For government today, employment generation is a challenging issue. Since government jobs are limited, not all youths can fit into it,” . Khandu hope that this new investment policy will address the unemployment issue by restructuring the economy of the state, which will boost overall growth and development.

The CM, however, stressed that the policy should be acceptable to the people and urged the MLAs and the panchayat leaders to generate awareness to the masses. “If we don’t think for our own state, then we can’t go ahead,” he stressed.

Speaking on the theme of ‘restructured’ tourism development scheme, the Chief Minister said the new concept was devised after the earlier policy through which the beneficiaries were provided with vehicles on subsidy didn’t achieve the intended objective. These vehicles were supposed to be used for running tourist taxis; but with lack of motivation it ended up being used for personal means, he pointed.

The ‘restructured’ concept expands the scope for venturing into newer trade in the tourism industry, through which the beneficiaries can avail loan for opening a restaurant, running a tour operator, hotels, home stays, purchasing adventure equipment etc.

Accordingly, 52 beneficiaries were handed over bank loan cheques for setting up of patisserie, food court, home stay and purchase of adventure equipment where Rs 5 lakhs is provided as state subsidy.

“In this restructuring, through the government of India scheme – ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’, every year 500 youths are trained for self-employment,” the Chief Minister informed.
