Rebia appeals public to support Itanagar-Jote road construction work

The much talked and lots of controversy mongered on 24 KM Itanagar-Jote road began on Friday last.  Minster Urban Development, Law & Justice and Land management Nabam Rebia while informed that the said road is the lifeline of the area and Sangdupoto circle as well it would lead to the connectivity to the East Kameng district as well and appeal the public to support.

Government on its part approved the scheme, tender floated and have provide fund for the work of road leading to Jote, some section of people have grocely misunderstood with regard to tendering process is politicalised which is wrong and I have never interfere into the episode and it was nothing but to tarnish my image. There is no scope for interference, he said.

This year the fund is not sufficient for completion of the stretch of road from Itanagar to Jote as there are few bridge on Gira river and Poma river and others. I will try for additional fund for the same, Rebia added.

We want a good road and he have directed the department to take up the work on war footing and the formation cutting and other important work need to be completed before rainy season.

He further appeal the people of the locality to support the working agency in completing the work in time with quality.

There was litigation in the court of law which was turned down and the youths of the area have realised about the need of development.

Rebia went on adding that there was a proposal approved of construction of two lane CC road but due to several obstruction made by locals on issue related to land compensation it was abandoned and lapsed but they have realised now the need of that road.

The Sangdupota Circle specially Jote is become an education hub. NIT have already come up but due to pathetic road condition the academic classes is to began. Law college is almost completed and academic session will began from 2018, Women college, TV and Film Institute, EDI, Regional Art & Culture Centre is coming up and the most important Army cantonment would come up and high level army official have visited the area. He said.

United Sangdupota Intellectual Forum (USIF) Chairman Teli Tadap said that we have been fighting and have launched democratic movement against the tendering process for last two month but in the greater interest of the development of the area we have come to a mutual understanding with the working agency is. N.T Agency and the youths of the area recently and let work started. We have not delayed the project but is was delayed by the PWD department.
