Pul on aerial survey of Lohit-Lower Dibang Valley stretch

Chief Minister Kalikho Pul today made an aerial survey of the foothills area stretching from Sissiri river bordering East Siang and Lower Dibang Valley to Chipu river bordering Lohit and Lower Dibang Valley.

In his aerial survey, he surveyed the vegetation cover in the foothill areas. The Chief Minister wanted to see for himself the extent of forest cover in these areas, as the state government proposes to denotify reserved areas to make way for development in the foothill areas.

He also took note of the erosion being caused by Chipu, Deopani, Dibang and Sissiri rivers. The CM made aerial inspection of Chipu bridge being constructed by BRO, and also of Sissiri bridge. These two bridges when completed will provide great relief as Sissiri bridge would connect Dambuk with Pasighat and then Itanagar, and Chipu bridge would connect Roing and Tezu.

 The Chief Minister also inspected the extent of flood damage in Dambuk administrative division as during summer it gets cut off from all corners due to overflowing Dibang and Sissiri rivers.

 Earlier, the CM took aerial survey of the area stretching from Tezu to Lower Dibang Valley forest division. He noted the extent of forest cover in these areas. The CM also surveyed the extent of flood damage by rivers Digaru and Sukha nallah.
