The Peoples Forum of Pakke-Kessang Assembly Constituency under East Kameng district today demanded immediate bye-election in Pakke Kessang assembly constituency.
Addressing the media persons at Arunachal Press Club here Forum General Secretary Martin Brah said that even after passing of more than eight months the election commission of India (ECI) have not declared the bye-election to the 12th Pakke-Kessang Assembly Constituency fallen vacant after the Guwahati High Court order in the month of February 2017.
Martin said that all round development of the area have been deprived due to absence of elected leader to represent in Assembly and many fund which was supposed to reach the constituency like SADA, RE etc have not reached and implemented properly on the ground. There have been lots of other untold problems as system of government is directly associated with the elected leaders which is not available in our constituency.
The declared assembly election recently was nullified by the ECI after the state government notification which have recommended on the basis of the false report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner Seppa and the election process was cancelled. The candidates of the various political party were busy in campaigning and a day before filing of nomination paper the process was cancelled which have led to violence and one of the victim is undergoing treatment at RK Mission hospital and demanded compensation from the state government he said.
Martin said that The ADC Seijosa Kento Rina who is a master trainer of the assembly election understood to have been under transfer and all the schemes and official activities which is known to him will also be affected and he should not be transferred so that the activities of the administration is not affected he observed.
Jt. Secretary Nabra Natung while said that whatever the district administration recommendation against the election process which stopped the process and the weather is fine these days while the state election department should clear the mistake which was done previously and should recommend for declaration of the bye-election within seven days and threatened to launch democratic movement if herein fail.
He said that flow of money and liquor are order of the day in the area and violence activities are increasing these days if immediately election process is not declared and said that irrespective of political party the local people of the area demand immediate bye-election or else ready to support the movement if launched. The form of democratic movement may be in form of rally, protest march and dharna or Nirbachan Bhawan gherao etc. he added.
