Pasighat- Dy Cm Chowna Mein Visits State University Site

Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein held a meeting regarding the Arunachal Pradesh State University, Pasighat with the Chief Engineer and Commissioner PWD just after arrival from Pasighat in his official residence here today.

During his visit to the State University site yesterday, Dy CM found that initially the department has been haphazardly trying to begin the construction work of the University building without any Master Plan and asking for fund in piecemeal for construction of Administrative Block in the initial stage. Saying that the State University is a priority project by the State Govt and it should be executed with proper planning, he directed the Chief Engineer PWD (Western Zone B) to prepare a Master Plan of the State University indicating the proper lay out of the Administrative Block, Play Ground, Staff Quarters, Hostels etc in consultation with the department of Higher & Technical Education. He asked the Chief Engineer to submit the Master Plan with detail estimates in first week of February 2017.

 He said to demarcate the boundary of the University area with concrete walls to protect it from any encroachment and asked CE to submit the estimate for the boundary wall immediately.

He also said to hold another round of meeting at Govt Level to discuss in details regarding the Arunachal Pradesh State University saying that the Arunachal Pradesh University Bill was passed by the State Assembly way back in the year 2012.

Nani Tatung, Chief Engineer PWD (Western Zone – B) clarified that no fund has been released by the State Govt against the Arunachal Pradesh State University so far and informed that an estimate of Rs 5 Crores has been submitted for site development and construction of Administrative Block by the department, the release of which is still awaited. He assured to submit the Master Plan within a week.

Hage Khoda, Commissioner PWD also attended the meeting.
