Pasighat celebrates “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”

Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ Sammelan here today, which was inaugurated by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram.

The event is part of the campaign, being held across the country, to mark the completion of three years of Narendra Modi’s government at the centre and to share the message of development among the citizens.

 The event showcased the achievements of BJP government during the last three years besides a short film on the development, which was attended by more than 200 people, including women and children from nearby areas.

 The Chief Minister in his speech said Pasighat being the oldest town in the state is a matter of pride and hailed it as the town that represents Arunachal.  He said but with time the town couldn’t race ahead in development and promised the support of state government to brace up the developmental pace.

 Pasighat being the oldest administrative centre in Arunachal, the Chief Minister announced a civil secretariat. He requested the local administration to bring in good consultant to prepare a DPR so that work could be started this year.

 He said all projects announced for Pasighat such as JNC College hostel and common festival ground has been sanctioned though the promise for a new market complex couldn’t start due to local issues over land. He said the state government is ready to sanction work and requested the local administration to resolve the land issue so that foundation stone can be laid for works to begin this year.

 Asserting on connectivity, the Chief Minister regretted that Arunachal is the only state in India that has no airport in its capital. He therefore sought cooperation of the people in building of an airport in state capital. He informed that central technical team has selected Hollongi as the desired spot for airport though high demand for compensation could not be fulfilled. He requested that the compensation demands be made reasonable so that works can begin soon. He said once Itanagar airport is complete, air service across the state can be started with operation of fixed wing aircraft giving the much needed push for improving connectivity.

The Chief Minister said the state government plans to use social media aggressively to keep connect with the people. He informed that all departments will be given training on social media to use it effectively to disseminate information to the public. Also training will be imparted for educated youths and entrepreneurs on how to use social media to maximize their business.

The Chief Minister said the central government has announced several schemes for poor and unemployed youths, which will be duck tailed to be implemented in the state. He requested the citizens to avail the schemes launched by the centre and the state announced in the budget.

He said under BJP, work culture has greatly improved and Chief Ministers and Ministers have to now send periodical reports to centre. He said the central ministers have also been asked to visit the states once in every two months, improving the connect between the centre and the state.

The Chief Minister said for Arunachal to go in right path and towards right development, BJP is the most appropriate party that can lead the state ahead. Arunachal will transform only under BJP, he asserted.

Union Minister Oram in his speech announced Rs 69 crore for Arunachal under his ministry. He also announced a tribal research centre for the state. He said the BJP government has special place for tribals in India. It is only under BJP that a separate full-fledged ministry was formed to look after issues of tribal people during former PM Vajpayee’s tenure.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein while highlighting the purpose of the meeting called to work in tandem with the central BJP government in order to bring rapid socio-economic development in the state.

He said that under the dynamic, dedicated and determined Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has envisaged special plan for the development of NE states has given special impetus for road, air, railway, river and IT connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh for its inclusive growth and development.

 Dy Cm  informed that the State government has been moving progressively towards achieving the five areas of connectivity which has been envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the railway connectivity which has been a distant dream of every Arunachalee will very soon be a reality and it will connect all important strategic places of the State including Tawang.

He said that the State BJP Government under the young and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Pema Khandu is very much concern for overall development and growth of the centenary town, Pasighat. The town has become a model for other towns of the State and this is visible by the way, Pasighat has made rapid progress in all developmental fronts in the last two years, Mein said.

 He asserted that the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, inaugurated by the prime minister on May 26, which has been dedicated after the legendary Dr Bhupen Hazarika is the country’s longest river bridge, connecting the remotest parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The bridge will boost the tourism activities of the State and help market the agri-horti products to other parts of the country. The bridge will also cater to the strategic requirements of the country for the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh. It will not only reduce the travel time between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh but will increase the industrial investments with better border trade between the Northeast and South Asian countries, he added.

State BJP President Tapir Gao also spoke on the occasion. The welcome speech was delivered by Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong.

The programme was also attended by Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, RD Minister Alo Libang, Agriculture Parliamentary Secretary Tatung Jamoh, Advisor to CM Lombo Tayeng, MLA Kento Rina, Pasighat DC Tamiyo Tatak, including top state BJP party officials.
