The two-day long 4th edition of Northeast Fiesta which started from 20th of April to 21 of April ended with a solemn note which was organised by Northeast students organisation, Jalandhar in association with Viva Collage Jalandhar.

With the aim of Celebrating Culture, Connecting People and Transforming LIFE, this extravaganza Northeast Fiesta, the biggest carnival of Northeast India in Punjab was organised to showcase the cultural diversity of all the Northeastern states of India to all the people of Punjab with a cultural exchange program to foster integrity, prosperity and excellence.

During the day time Carnival, handicraft, handloom, art, traditional sport, photography and  tourism exhibition was presented from all the eight states. All the 8 states presented their traditional Folk music and dance and mesmerised the guest and the local visitors. A few northeast based music bands and also from Jalandhar participated in both days.

A discussion session on relevant topics of Northeast which was discussed and the eminent speaker from various startup from Northeast region spoke about the importance of trade and commerce in the Northeast.

Dr Jai Inder Singh the chief guest of the event,  SDM of Phagwara, Punjab  congratulated the students for bringing the cultural diversity of Northeast in Punjab and expressed best wishes for the success of this festival.

Talented designers Linthoi from Manipur presented  cultural fashion show of 8 northeastern states. Arunachal Pradesh folk dance was showcased by Arunachal Students studying here in Punjab

Singing talents from Northeast such as Ophilia Kharluki from Meghalaya and Fable from Nagaland enthralled the audience of Punjab.

“Northeast Fiesta is a platform to bridge the gap between the Northeastern States of India and showcased the cultural beauty of respective states to the people here in Punjab and also provide a platform for young talented designers, singers and many more” as told by Komal Chutia the Head of Media and Publicity, Northeast Fiesta 2019.

All the Punjabi people were babbled by the amazing colours of Northeast and one of the resident told “Such kind of cultural event is reducing the barriers between Northern India and Northeastern India and he also told that he always eagerly wait for Northeast Fiesta to happen”.
