Nation wants to follow the footsteps of Modi Says Pema Khandu

“Today the nation wants to follow the footsteps of Modi ji. We Arunachali are also ready now,” said the Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He was addressing at the State Executive Meeting of the BJP party on Thursday. Khandu  expressed optimism that things are changing under the powerful and honest Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Addressing the meeting Khandu called for change of mindset to change the old corrupt system put in place by several decades of Congress rule in the country and the state.

“The state is celebrating the 31st year of statehood. But the kind of progress and development as expected didn’t happen under Congress rule. Instead it has spoilt the working atmosphere corrupting the minds of the public and the leader,” Khandu lamented.

Khandu said in our heart, we all want development of our state. But only lecture wont suffice; it must match with our action and hard work, he said and appealed the party worker to imbibe the concept of Team Arunachal, which must be adopted by them first. He urged the workers to work hand in hand with the government for successful implementation of its policies and programmes. He also appealed them to spread awareness on government policies at district, mandal and booth-level.

In his advise to the party, the Chief Minister suggested that during executive meetings, the party must also come up with state’s own resolution instead of merely adopting the national level resolution.

He spoke on the recent reforms by state government incorporated in this year’s budget that has focused on governance and reforms. To bring reforms, Khandu emphasized that government needs to have a clear mindset and all elected leaders too.

He informed on merger of planning and finance department and also elaborated on how composite system of sanctioning files have made the project approval process smooth and corruption free.

Also he spoke strongly on separate administrative centres for east and west Arunachal. Informing that this year budget has approved for making the office of the east and west divisional commissioner functional, the Chief Minister said: “If development has to reach all corners of Arunachal, offices must be decentralized from Itanagar. All Zonal heads and administrative centres have to function from their respective places.”

Speaking on GST, Khandu said he is in touch with Ministry of IT & communication to meet the hurdles for IT infrastructure for successful implementation of the new tax regime in the state. He also advised the party workers to enable the traders to get them registered under the new tax regime.

During the meeting, Upper balijan Anchal samity headed by its chairperson Ngurang Yakap with ASMs Techi Ana, Nabam Tapin, Nabam tangam joined BJP. They said were impressed by the performance and achievement of BJP government in last 2 and half years under the leadership of PM and party president and enthused confidence towards CM Khandu and state BJP party president.
