Namsai incident: Felix directs Admin, Police to ensure proper safety for the people

He further warned that any organization found to escalate or disturb the peace in the area would be dealt with iron hands.

In wake of sporadic incidences coming fore in Namsai district, Home Minister Bamang Felix on Sunday rushed to Namsai district on the directives of Chief Minister Pema Khandu to take stock of the law and order situation there.  Felix who was accompanied by top Cops of the state took review of how the district administration and the police are handling the law and order in the district, following the escalating tensions between two communities in the district.

During the review meeting with the district administration and police, Bamang Felix directed the district administration and police to ensure proper safety for the people, peace and communal harmony.

The Home Minister stated that he has been monitoring the situation closely and appreciated the district administration and police for showing restraints and handling the situation at their best.

In the meantime, he also met with the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) of both the counterparts and urged upon the representatives to refrain from resorting to violence. He asked them to volunteer to instil the sense of brotherhood and resolve issues amicably.

He however convince them that the state government will convene a round table meeting including all stakeholders on December 2 at Itanagar to find a permanent solution to the issue.

He further warned that any organization found to escalate or disturb the peace in the area would be dealt with iron hands.

Stating that every problem has a solution, he asked the communities to uphold communal harmony.

The minister also informed that HODs, district administration officer, civil and senior police officer and CBOs leader from ABK, TKSU, TKDC, NAYWA and others have agreed to come for scheduled round table meeting on December 2nd nextand have assured to maintain peace in the area.

The Home Minister was accompanied by DGP, IGP, MLAs Jikke Tako and Hayang Mangfi during the visit.
