Namsai; Chowna Mein reviews flagship programmes under “Sankalp se Siddhi Tak”

Under the “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak” IEC Program, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein reviewed the progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s Flagship Programmes in Namsai District at the District Secretariat’s Conference Hall of Namsai today.

He called upon the Officers to go an extra mile to implement the CSS and Flagship Programmes in order to achieve the target and vision of New India by 2022 as envisaged by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi under his New India Movement.

He appealed them to see that the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s Flagship Programmes are implemented in letter and spirit and also to ensure that the Govt welfare programs percolate down to the intended beneficiaries.

He asked them to bring awareness to the general masses about various Central and State Govt schemes and programmes through IEC so that they come to know about it and avail the benefits. He further asked them to set Namsai as an ideal district and be the first to achieve all the objectives as envisaged under these programmes.

Mein further said that Skill Development is an important component of the “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak” and asked the Officers to encourage the unemployed educated youths to avail the benefits under various Skill Development Programmes and Loan provided by the State Govt on subsidized rates to set up local entrepreneurs for self employment and generate livelihood activities.

Citing Drug Addictions as a big challenge among the youths today, he further asked the Govt Officers to involve the youths in positive activities like games & sports and local entrepreneurship and also asked the district administration and police to deal strictly with the poppy cultivation and drug trafficking to stop the growing menace.

He also said that efforts must be put to double the farmer’s income by 2022 and to take up irrigations, issue of soil health cards to farmers, generation of quality seedlings for rubber, tea and coffee in mission mode along with all other flagship programmes.

He further called upon the officers to submit innovative proposals to be taken up in the next budget.

 Special Secretary of Education and IPR Departments, Mithali  Namchoom who is also the Secretary-Incharge of Namsai District Committee under the IEC Program while highlighting the various CSS and PM’s & CM’s Flagship Programmes through power point presentation.

 She said that the motto is to drive home the message of development to the common man and to ensure that every citizen should know about the programmes and schemes taken up by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for the people.

Namsai Deputy Commissioner, R K Sharma highlighted the status and achievements of various CSS and Flagships Programmes implemented in the district. He also informed that five Master Trainers of the District were already appointed who will further oversee the IEC and Implementation of various pro-people programs of the Govt in Circle and Block levels.

 Among others, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Heads of Departments, Principals  & Heads of Educational Institutions and members of Spice Board, Tea Board and Coffee Board were present in the meeting.

 It is here to inform that the District Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein for Namsai is the first to conduct “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak” IEC Program that was formed by the State Govt recently.

Later, Dy CM visited the Old DC Office building where it is proposed to be the temporary campus for Green Field Science College and the under construction building of Multipurpose Cultural Hall in Namsai. Mein asked the Deputy Commissioner to make the Green Field Science College functional from the coming academic session.
